164/365 Love is…

­­­­­When I was little the word “love” was so full of mystery and romance. I dreamed of having a “love”. And there came the in-between years…filled with longing & heartbreak. The so-called “love” sure wasn’t what I thought it would be. But I can now say with all honesty and sincerity that I have a “love”…and frankly, this Love is much more than sweet words and roses…

My life is admittedly a big mess (literally) most of the time…I have my bad days, I have stressful deadlines and my printer runs out of toner.  But underneath it all, I am loved  by God and a lover of God. HE is the Love that’s full of mystery…not the kind that hurts your feelings, but the kind that just is. Raw, unconditional love. I may be a mess, but that’s the beauty of it…

His love makes happiness possible, not my circumstances. You see, HAPPINESS is not the absence of all the wrong in your life, but rather trust in the One whose leadership is perfect…the good, the bad, and the ugly; He makes all things work together for the good of those who love Him.

To all my single girls out there, let me tell you; I had my share of single (& often sad) days…what I know is this; LOVE isn’t a fairytale. It’s better. And there’s only one Man who can give it to you. It’s Jesus.

Don’t marry a perfect man; there aren’t any. Marry an imperfect man who has a heart of repentance and is being continuously changed by the work of the Holy Spirit. Marry a man who has the living, breathing, ever-increasing knowledge of God burning in Him. Marry a man who has a Love already. (I promise you he will love you far better if he loves God more than he loves you.)
